Happy "Islander Day" Monday TOSH Parents and Guardians!

I hope everyone had the chance to enjoy the gift of time that this February holiday offers. We are headed into a busy week at school, so the extra day of rest was definitely needed and appreciated! Lots to report this week, so read on!

Speaking of reporting...your son/daughter was given his/her Semester 1 report card last Monday to bring home to you. If you did not see this and/or have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, Mr. Jason Gallant, or Mr. Gerald MacCormack at 888-8460 or via e mail ASAP!

The Parent Council is still looking for donations to the Potluck Lunch they are hosting for Staff Appreciation on February 19 at 11:45 p.m.

We wish Ms. Rochelle Sullivan all the best as she heads off on maternity leave! Mrs. Michelle Silliker will be filling her position for the remainder of this school year. Welcome, Mrs. Silliker!

GRAD ACTIVITY TUESDAY!

The Class Officers are hosting a "Games Night" at the school for members of the Class of 2014 on Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 7-9 p.m. Grads are asked to wear something comfy (PJ's, sweats, etc.) and admission is free.

WEEK IN REVIEW

We had some fun last week thanks to the Climate Crew and Activities Council. Theme days such as "Twin Day" and "Throwback Thursday" had great participation, and Valentine's Day was celebrated with Matchmaker form results, the Heart and Dating Games, and Wear Red and Pink Day. The Crew spent the week "catching" people committing Random Acts of Kindness, and more than a "few" heart shaped sucker rewards were distributed as a result. With Winter Carnival Week, the smiles can only continue! Thanks to all who did, and will, participate this coming week. You are part of our awesome school spirit! Enjoy the pictures below:

TOSH WINTER CARNIVAL 2014! 
This is Winter Carnival Week coming up at Three Oaks, and our theme mirrors that of the Olympics: We Are Winter! We will be celebrating our Canadian Pride on Wednesday and encourage everyone to come decked out in Red and White that day! We are keeping our fingers crossed for TOSH Alum, Heather Moyse's, success in her two-man bobsled Olympic event this week, as well. There may be a last minute trip to the gym to cheer her on to victory Wednesday, so stay tuned! In the meantime, take a peek at the list of events that our Activities Council have planned for the week!:

IAN STEWART HYPNOTIST SHOW: FEB. 23!


Master Hypnotist, Ian Stewart, will be at Three Oaks on Sunday, Feb. 23 to awe and entertain anyone wishing to come watch our TOSH students get hypnotized! Ian has appeared at our TOSH Winter Carnivals for many years and has been featured on the Jay Leno Show and Late Night with David Letterman. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:00 sharp in the Gym. Admission is $5.

To the Rogers Raising the Grade Mentors (pictured above) for the awesome program them are running at the Summerside Boys' and Girls' Club!: Olivia Cass, Ben Smith, Patrick Steele, Brett Murphy, Reanna Graham, Rachel Barry and Jayme Misener (also serving on B&GC National Youth Council and Maritime Youth Council), Shalynn Buss, Caitlin Gallant, Kaitlyn Taylor, and Charlotte Sullivan.

To Kaitlyn Taylor and Rodney DuFour for bringing in the top number of new memberships for the Rogers Raising the Grade program!

To all the students who took the time to make Valentines to be delivered to seniors on Valentine's Day last week! 

To the members of the Climate Crew who planned the RAOK activity and theme days last week! Fun! :)

To the members of the Activities Council who sold Matchmaker results and facilitated Valentine's Day activities last week!

Challenge:  Encourage your son/daughter to participate in some of the Winter Carnival activities this week, either by dressing up for a theme day, joining in an event, or just cheering other people on who do. Let's make coming to school to learn fun!
