Nicole's Notes: Volume 32 (April 29, 2013)

Nicole Gallant and Noah Richardson:
 Climate Days Central!
Happy Monday TOSH Parents and Guardians!

And there goes the month of April!! Wow... We are definitely in the home stretch with Grade 12 Final Exams only 6 weeks away (Eek!). We will have to work together to keep our kids focused on the tasks at hand, especially with the nice weather starting to surface. There's still lots of time for them to take care of business and ensure that their final marks are the best reflection of their academic abilities, so no panic necessary. "Worry is not preparation", but doing the work IS! :)

Our Climate Days last week were a huge success, and we are so grateful to Peter Bolo, retired teacher from Westisle, who co-facilitated these workshops with me. The feedback from student and staff participants was very positive, and we trust that the learning and sharing that happened during these three days will go a long way toward enhancing the positive school climate for everyone in our building. "It's hard to hate someone whose story you know", and it was heartwarming to see our workshop participants buying in full tilt: sharing, laughing, and having fun with anyone and everyone. The world would be a gentler place if we could all play together like that everyday! Here are some pictures from the workshop days to give you a sneak peek into their experience:

SAFE TRAVELS TO OUR SENIOR BAND MEMBERS!
Our Senior Concert Band members are leaving early Tuesday morning for their trip to Ottawa, Ontario. Our student musicians will have the opportunity to compete in a local festival there, as well as experience the rich culture found in Canada's capital city. Thank you to our Music Director, Ms. Carruthers, as well as her staff and parent chaperones who will be accompanying our students this week. Kudos, as well, to our hard working Band Parents Association who helped to make this trip possible. We look forward to hearing the many stories-both funny and heartwarming-that are sure to come back home with you! Safe travels everyone!
